Day 1

You are met at the airport and taken to the 4 star SaltyCrax Backpackers in Table View. The hostel is within walking distance from Kite Beach, transport terminals, restaurants, bars and shops. Early arrivals can spend the day either on a tour through the Cape Town city centre (optional extra) or simply relaxing on beautiful white beaches with picturesque views of Table Mountain.

At 5pm everyone meets at SaltyCrax for Orientation and a traditional South African BBQ around the fire. After a good meal, roll down to the local bars and pubs where you can spend the rest of the night at your leisure.

Day 2

After a farmhouse breakfast, a qualified kitesurfing instructor will meet you. He will take you to the world famous Kite Beach that has an amazing backdrop of Table Mountain and a steady supply of wind and waves.

Your first day of lessons will begin with:

Lesson 1: Introduction to Kiteboarding

Includes safety, equipment setup, understanding the wind and land based flying.

Lesson 2: Water Introduction

Includes large kite handling, self-launch and hopefully body dragging through the water.

Lesson 3: Water Skills

Includes advanced body dragging, water re-launch and basic board skills. You are taken back to the hostel after an exciting day of kiting. Relax around the fire while a potjie; a traditional South African stew, is cooked. The rest of the night is yours to discover the local night life.

Day 3

After a full breakfast in served in dinning room, you are taken back to the beach.

Your final day of lessons include:

Lesson 4: Board Basics

Includes first water starts on a board and first ride.

Lesson 5: Supervised Riding and Tips

Includes riding with power, change of direction and holding an edge.

You will now be an IKO accredited kitesurfer and will receive a certificate and card allowing you to kite anywhere in the world.

You can choose to have dinner from a wide variety of restaurants (own expense).

Day 4

After breakfast we journey for an hour and a half up the West Coast to Paternoster, a quaint fishing village that is ideal for taking photos of the simple life in South Africa. We then go to Langebaan to wine and dine at a seaside restaurant. About ten courses of traditional seafood, including mussels and crayfish, are cooked in front of you. There is also time to practise your kitesurfing.

We then head off to the Langebaan Lagoon for sunset and cocktails. After the long day in the sun, we return to the backpackers hostel.

Day 5

After breakfast and an early start, we go to Atlantis, passing the Melkbos beach along the way. Your sandboarding instructor will show you how to ride down the dunes. We then hit the beach for lunch and to wash the sand off with surf lessons.

Dinner will be served back at the hostel.

Day 6

We take a 20 minute drive up the West coast to the skydiving drop zone. Your tandem skydiving instructor will give you a briefing before boarding the plane. The view on the flight is breathtaking. Cape Town lies to the south, False Bay is further south, Robben Island is to the west and the Langebaan Lagoon is to the north.

After the exhilarating skydive, we return to the hostel to feast on a traditional South African stew called a potjie
