Cross Culture Training for Volunteers, Travelers and Ex Pats
Thailand
Duration of Program: 1-2 weeks
Dates: Every month
Description:
OpenmindProjects is an Aid, Development and International Volunteer Organization with experience of training over a thousand volunteers in Thailand. This is your way to prepare in becoming a successful volunteer and visitor to another country. Feel comfortable, welcome in SE Asia. We assist you in making good use your talents in a different culture and new environment. We help volunteers and travelers to a quality cross culture experience. As a volunteer and ex pat, you need social, cross culture skills and self-confidence, along with patience, curiosity, and flexibility. Our training is designed to make volunteers and travelers alike feel comfortable in an unfamiliar environment.
Highlights:
You learn about culture codes, do's and dont's, how to dress and behave in Thailand and the rest of SE Asia. You learn and practice South East Asian culture and how to socialize and work with local people. Volunteers and ex pats get advice on planning and working with people who have different work habits. You learn what to consider when teaching and how to teamwork with local colleagues. The training is activity based with a focus on learning by doing. For 3 days, you interact intensely with local people. The training is mainly conducted by our own young and enthusiastic staff. They have been especially trained to teach and assist you, so it is a true authentic experience because they know what they are talking about. They come from the very projects where volunteers go. A very valuable and enjoyable experience say previous participants! The training is highly recommended not only by volunteers, but also local teachers, managers, and headmasters. Arrange your traveling to come for the training a day before start. You are welcome to stay at our Nongkhai Training Center in Nongkhai, located by the Mekong River on the border of Laos. You can take some extra days to visit Laos too.

Open mind projects's Mission Statement: Open Mind Projects is a bridge to knowledge and cross-cultural understanding, bridging digital and knowledge divides between rich and poor.
