One of the most beautiful places on earth.....This eight day trip will leave you full of unforgettable memories, and will expand your mind as you experience the sparse Kalahari desert, hot springs, forests, river canyons and the spectacular table mountain, not to mention friendly people, diverse culture and breathtaking scenery. This adventure tour has the flexibility for you to make your own choices as to what you want to do and see as the week goes by. Camp out? Stay indoors and have the comfort of a bed? Sandboard? Hike? Quad bike? Canoe? The choice really is yours. This tour is available as an Accommodated tour from South Africa through to Namibia (8 days, 7 nights or with a few tweaks to the itinerary, as a Camping Tour, 7 days and 6 nights).
Highlights:
Day One: As you leave Cape Town, there will be a photo stop at table view for a spectacular panorama of the city and Table Mountain. You'll be taken to one of Cape Town's organic farms for wine tasting in this well known region before heading north into the Cederberg mountains. You'll arrive at your accommodation for your briefing on the tour, truck and equipment. Lunch and Dinner included Day Two: Traveling through the Namaqualand and stopping off at the rather remote town of Springbok for any last minute buys. You will then cross the Namibian border and check into your chalets which overlook the Orange River (also known as Gariep River) that forms the border between South Africa and Namibia. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included. Day Three: Either put your feet up, relax and take in the surroundings or take a half day canoe down the Orange River. After lunch, its time to head further north to the Ai-Ais Hot Springs and stay overnight. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included. Day Four: Take a scenic walk along the edge of the 2nd largest canyon in the world, Fish River Canyon for spectacular views. Later that day it's off into the Kalahari area of Namibia where you will visit Kokerboom Forest, famous for it's Quiver trees. Day Five: An optional tribal interaction with the indigenous San Khoi people and then a journey down to the Namib National Park. Here you'll stay the night, just outside of the park and listen to the silence of the star studded skies. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included Day Six A full day in the Namib Nakluft National Park. Your day starts with a journey into Sossusvlei, where a local guide will share their expertise of the unique desert ecosystem. Later you'll be transported to Dune 45, where you have the chance to hike up the Dune for a photo opportunity not to be missed! The afternoon is spent with a short walk into the Sesriem Canyon. Day Seven/Eight Crossing the Tropic of Cancer from the desert to the Atlantic coast. The first stop is Walvis Bay, where hopefully you will have the opportunity to see flamingos. (season dependant). Then, off to Swakopmund, the adventure capital of Namibia. You'll be briefed on the many optional activities available to you the following day. Quad bike over the Dunes, sand board, take a cruise to spot Dolphin in the waves, sky dive or take a scenic flight over the desert. Breakfast x 1, Lunch x 2 included.
