Description:
Earn two PADI qualifications in the stunning Pacific Ocean, learn to surf in one of the world's best surf locations, learn Spanish, go on a variety of trips and have the time of your life on this amazing Ecuadorian adventure. Ever fancied learning to surf along the stunning Ecuadorian coastline? Ever dreamt of learning to dive in clear South American waters teeming with over 450 saltwater fish? Or ever wanted to learn Spanish surrounded by Spanish speakers and immersed in a vibrant South American culture? On this unique Ecuadorian Scuba, Surf and Spanish adventure, you have the opportunity to do all this, and so much more! Your home for this six week adventure will be a small coastal town called Montanita, located on Ecuador's Pacific Coast. Montanita has brilliant diving and is known as one of the best surf locations in the country. Here you will live in stunning thatched cabanas (thatched rooms) in an idyllic location, just a few minutes walk from the beach, town and Spanish school absolute paradise! During your time in Ecuador you will learn 100 hours of Spanish spread over your six weeks. Rather than being stuck in a classroom, the lessons are held outside, on balconies, on the beach, in the local cafes, and just about anywhere else that your group fancies. This way, you get to mix with the people of Montanita, all while you learn a new language. As well as learning Spanish, you will spend the first two weeks in Ecuador learning to surf with your surf instructor, Isidro. (Isidro represents Ecuador in international competitions and came 17th in the World Surfing Championship in 2008, so you are in good hands!) He will teach you in small groups, passing on his excellent knowledge and lots of tips to help anyone that couldn't previously surf to develop into a good surfer, and anyone that could already surf become an even better surfer! You will get to surf at the different surf locations along the 60kms of Ecuadorian coastline; the highlight of which will be at 'The Point' the location for a variety of international surf competitions every year. After learning to surf in the first two weeks, you will then be able to continue to surf in the following weeks, when you will concentrate on learning to dive. For the following fortnight, you will learn to dive and obtain Open Water and Advanced Open Water diving qualifications in theory lessons, swimming pool sessions, and open sea dives. Anyone that already dives will learn qualifications such as the PADI Rescue Diver. During your free time and at weekends, you can carry on surfing, relax on the beach, or go exploring in the local area. The final two weeks will give you the chance to continue surfing, with lessons from your instructor that will develop your skills even further so you can become a competent surf dude or surf babe! Every day, you will surf some spectacular surf breaks up and down the coast and maybe even enter a local competition if one is running! Also during your stay, you will get to go on a couple of one-day surf tours, where you will travel along the 60 km's of surf breaks, looking for the best ones to surf. After six weeks in Ecuador you will be able to surf, scuba dive and speak Spanish. What an adventure to tell you friends and family about!
