Description:
The Artificial Nest-box Program is one of the great successes of ProAves, and was initiated when we noticed that threatened parrots are being affected by the lack of suitable natural nest cavities and poor nest success rate. Participate and help us building nests, taking care of them, and giving parrots a new opportunity to grow freely! Position description: Ecovolunteers will be record data on field, be responsible for equipment, clean and relocate nests when necessary, be aware of, monitor, and safeguard materials, and be enthusiastic and committed to responsibilities. Activities: * Record data on field * Help with equipment * Building new nests * Set up nests in different locations * Maintain, clean, and replace nests * Monitoring nests * evaluate populations

Qualifications:
The ecovolunteers must be older than 18 years old, flexible to work in the field in hard conditions and able to work without supervision. Persons with studies in biology, ecology, biology conservation or related areas are strongly preferred. Experience associated with bird surveying, monitoring, banding etc, are evaluated.

Cost Include Description:
As an Ecovolunteer you are able to support a project in two different ways: by working and by paying. Depending on the project, you have to be available for at least four weeks. The length of your stay, your previous education and your experience will determine the kind of work that you do.What is included in the fee? * Assistance before, during and after your trip: information about the program, destination, vaccinations, visas and references. * Supervising during your staying at the placement * Professional and research experience on field * 24 hour-a-day assistance, 7 days a week in Colombia, to make sure you receive the best quality and service. * Food and staying at the project * Materials, equipment and transportation for research operations * Participation certificate
