Description:
Get the chance to work with sick and injured turtles off the coast of Rayong Province. The turtle population, in Thai waters needs some replenishment and the conservation project looks after baby turtles from birth to 12 months old. The project also helps older turtles, who have been injured. They stay at the center until they are well enough to be reintroduced to the wild.
Highlights:
Every day you travel, by boat, to Mannai Island, where you will assist in tasks, such as cleaning the tanks, administering medical care to the turtles and preparing the food and feeding them. The center also helps other marine animals, in need of help, like dolphins or Dugongs. Everyday you visit the local fisherman's village and you can see them go about their daily lives, bringing their catch in after a hard nights fishing. The weekends are free to explore the surrounding areas in Rayong.
