Duration of Program: 1-2 weeks
Dates: All year

Description: Volunteer in rural & village schools along the scenic "Wild Coast" in Chintsa. The program focuses on enhancing education, computer literacy skills & sports development. Also available: the Inkwenkwezi Conservation Initiative, a hands-on experience working with game rangers in the private reserve.

Rural Schools - Teaching & Community Work

Highlights: Computer literacy is only in its infancy in the Wild Coast region. Working from an established course framework, help develop a teaching resource module for computer literacy courses. Ultimately, this program works toward: equipping rural & peri-urban schools with computers; meeting learning criteria by teaching computer literacy through reading, math & the sciences; & developing environmental learning & applied competencies through sustainable technology & life skills.

Optional Add-ons:
Project Excursions - Rappelling, mountain biking, kayaking, surf lessons, beach & game viewing horseback rides, sundowner river cruises, coastal hikes & rock climbing wall.

2-3 Day Pilanesberg Park Safari Package - Safari drives, huge walk-in aviaries, game watching, safe hiking trails & optional flight over the park in a hot-air balloon.

Johannesburg Day Tours - Visit Soweto for an insightful view into township life in South Africa, take a game drive in the Pilanesburg Game Reserve, or tour Pretoria, known as the Jacaranda City.

Qualifications: This program is only available for groups of 10 or more at this time.
