From here it is all about amazing nature and wildlife experiences with a trek in the Annapurna Region, rafting on the Trisuli River, and a jungle safari in Chitwan National Park.

8 weeks of voluntary work has to be chosen upon arrival at either local schools or orphanages in the villages surrounding Kathmandu.

* Programme
The programme consist of great sightseeing moments in Kathmandu with all its splendor and mysteries - and monkeys! We discover the Buddhist way of life and get very close to the people of Nepal. No-one is ever going to forget their meeting with this enchanted place - all of its colours, odd buildings, beautiful temples, and untold stories!

From then on the nature of the country will astound you every single day! The mountains, the thin air, the tea plantations, the small villages, the wide open plains, and much else! During your voluntary work you will have close encounters with the locals every day to much amusement for everyone - and it will teach you all about the Nepalese and their culture.

* Adventure
During the first 4 weeks of the programme you will experience lots of adventure! River rafting, trekking, an elephant ride, canoe trip, jungle walk, and cultural dance with the locals! Not to mention the marvelous 8 days fly-in drive-out Tibet tour with mountains all around you! Besides this you will visit an elephant breeding centre where you will experience the joy of creating life - and bringing it back to nature!

Highlights: You can work at either an orphanage or a school. Working time a day at the orphanage is approx. 5-6 hours, at the school approx. 6 hours. 40 children approximately per class.

At the school you will be accommodated at either a hostel or the principal house/apartment. Here you will be teaching English and playing with the approximated 40 children per class. It is a primary school with students of the age 3-8 yrs. It is a good idea to bring along some things for them as they do not have much. Pencils and such they have, but a map of the world or something else that you can use for teaching or playing purposes will be received with thanks. The teachers of the school all speak English and they are happy to speak with the volunteers.

At the orphanage you will be accommodated in an apartment. Your work will be every day after school. You will be helping them with their homework and playing with the children. They will also need help with personal feelings if you get close and also with getting school things ready. Here are children from 1-24 years, however they are usually between 4-15.
