Description: This placement is a small award winning eco lodge and sustainable living centre in a lush rainforest valley in unspoiled Eastern Dominica, surrounded by pristine rivers with a backdrop of rainforested mountains.

We offer various forms of accommodation to suit all budgets; self-contained cottage, bamboo tree house, traditional Carib Indian thatched cabin, full camping facilities and hammock rental.

Most of the lodge is reached only after a 15 minute steep uphill hike deep into the jungle, and volunteers need to be able to manage this without difficulty.

We have 5 private rooms, and one mixed share dormitory; in total 25 beds beds, and 32 places in tents. We have a fully licensed restaurant and bar on property, offering discounts to volunteers if they choose not to cook for themselves. All food from the garden for cooking by the volunteers is free of charge.

We run a sustainable living centre where we teach monthly workshops on all forms of renewable energy and organic farming practices, and offer tours of all our systems to all visitors.

We use only renewable energy, biodegradable cleaning products and our gardens are 100% organic. We have four natural river pools on site for bathing, We are ideally located on the edge of the Morne Trois Pitons National Park for hiking and wildlife watching, and offer a whole host of adventure, nature and community activities such as hiking, diving, horse riding, wildlife watching (turtles, birds and whales) and our community life package holidays, where guests get to experience real village life, and villagers receive cash payment for their services.

Volunteers will get complimentary food from the gardens to cook themselves, and accommodation in a bed in the mixed shared dormitory.
