Description:
With the Revival Programme, Responde offers a unique volunteering experience not at all representative of the increasingly more globalized images of life in Latin America. The mere exposure to the communities with which Responde works is an extraordinarily enriching and eye-opening experience, to work with them is an altogether incomparable one. To work towards a common goal with our diverse villages and their respective communities constitutes a unique platform to develop personal, professional and academic skills in organization, communication and solidarity. The Revival Programme establishes an important balance between hands-on experience and theoretical awareness. Volunteers spend an intensive period of training in Buenos Aires before embarking on their volunteer placement as we believe that in order to do a task well, one must be aware both of its importance and the requirements of the chosen activity. The contribution of volunteers is highly valued at Responde and the volunteer can expect to develop a profound understanding of the contribution that their input has made in the greater scheme of Responde's mission.
Highlights:
In a time and place where assistance is the only way to tend to an emergency, Responde concerns itself for the future of small rural villages. This Calling allows us to reach each village and invite them to work for their tomorrow, because we are sure that among all of them who receive assistance today, there are a great number who are ready and willing to commit themselves to make the necessary effort to change their present.
Qualifications:
Depending on the activity chosen, we will value volunteers who are confident, outgoing, hard-working and take initiative, who are sociable, self-driven and adaptable to new situations and people. A level of Spanish is necessary but due to the nature of certain tasks this will not necessarily have to be especially advanced.

The contribution of the volunteer consists of both the work which they carry out and the covering of the expenses that this work entails, as this would be outside of the economic possibilities for the NGO. The costs below cover the volunteer's accommodation in their chosen village, travel to and from the village, an usher to escort the volunteer to their village of choice, introduce them to the community and get them settled in, the manpower required during the initial training period in Buenos Aires and the continued implementation of the Revival Programme's work. University students who are part of a year abroad programme have special arrangements for costs depending on their universities and should contact their Year Abroad Officer for details. Volunteers thinking of arriving in pairs or groups should contact the Revival Programme Coordinator as discounts will be offered if the volunteers are to share accommodation. Partial or full grants may be awarded in exceptional circumstances.
Salary / Pay: The Revival Programmes volunteers can also benefit from free Tango and Yoga classes made available by our sponsors in recognition of their work. Discounted accommodation is also offered by our sponsors during The Introductory Phase and The Closure Phase of the placement.
