Costa Rica Surfing Course
Costa Rica
- North Western Region:
Tamarindo
Dates: First Monday of every month (arrive on the Sunday)
Description:
Our programme covers everything you need to know about surfing, from the basics of standing to how to read the ocean. As you advance your skills and your balance improves, you will be taught how to turn and ride bigger waves! If you already have some surf experience or are already an accomplished surfer, you will be able to take on better waves at more exclusive surf spots, with our instructors there to push you to your surfing limits. For new surfers, the programme is broken up into 2 sections a 5-day beginner's course and 5 days of further surf lessons, to fine-tune your newly acquired skills. If you have previous surf experience, then you may be asked to join the start of the course as a refresher and then you can join a more advanced group. As you advance, you will travel to other beaches with breaks suitable to a higher standard. If you opt for a Surfing Only Programme, the programme consists of a 5-day beginners' course and 3 days of additional lessons. If you choose the language option, the course is 20 hours per week of spannish lessons, the aim at the school is to make the lessons interesting and fun. The classes consider Spanish as a whole and as well as there being an emphasis on speaking abilities, they also take into account grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, pragmatic use and cultural understanding. Fun cultural activities will be included in your programme such as free cooking lessons, Latin dance lessons and Latin American song classes.
Highlights:
Costa Rica is a very popular destination and it is easy to see why, with attractions that appeal to all tastes. In urban areas, the country's colonial heritage provides the main features of interest, and Hispanic influences are everywhere. Elsewhere, Costa Rica's national parks are its greatest glory, resulting from a desire to conserve the outstanding natural beauty and encouragement of eco-tourism. Over 27% of the total land area of the country is made up of national parks and protected areas, which are well kept and well guarded. These parks contain some of the best campsites in the world. The country has a stunning variety of landscapes, micro climates and flora and fauna, making it a haven for nature lovers.
