50 Plus Immersion in Malaga, Spain

  Spain
    Malaga

Dates: Autumn - September to November ; Spring - February to June

Description: Our Malaga Spanish language holiday program is hosted by one of Spain's most highly regarded institutions for Spanish language and cultural immersion. Our partner school provides 25 modern and well-equipped classrooms, comfortable residence accommodation with single, shared or executive rooms and executive suites, a restaurant-cafeteria, 30-seat cinema, dance studio, pool and sun terraces. The campus is a 15 minute walk to sandy beaches, cafes and restaurants, a 15 minute bus ride to downtown Malaga and 20 minute drive from Malaga International Airport. The school offers a truly premium language immersion experience in one of the most culturally rich regions of Spain.

Course:

The 50 Plus Masters course combines Spanish learning with varied social and cultural activities designed to help you get to know the customs and traditions of Malaga and the Andalucian region. This course has been designed specifically for older learners with their unique learning needs in mind. There are 15 lessons per week of intensive Spanish instruction. The classes focus on learning highly practical Spanish for daily use in places such as restaurants, hotels, markets and in situations such as asking for directions, introducing yourself etc.

In addition to the Spanish language courses you will also have the opportunity to attend daily cultural activities or excursions during the week and one full day excursion every second weekend. Weekend excursion can include visits to places of significant interest such as Seville, Granada, Jerez and Ronda.

Teachers:

The teachers in this Spanish course in Spain are experienced, extensively trained in teaching Spanish as a second or foreign language, and many have master's degrees or equivalent teaching qualifications. They are known to be firm yet fun and work hard to ensure that you will get the most out of your class time in a full-immersion environment.

50 Plus Immersion in Malaga, Spain

Highlights: On the Mediterranean coast in the heart of Andalucia, where flamenco and bullfighting originated, sits lovely sunny Malaga. Malaga's climate is hot in the summer and warm in the fall and spring. Besides the expansive sandy beaches, Malaga is the ideal city to explore two of the most defining features of Spanish culture - flamenco dance and Spanish cuisine... our program has both.

The city is also home to the new Picasso Art Gallery, considered by many art critics to be the one of the most important Picasso galleries in the world. Malaga is also the perfect jumping off point for day-trips to nearby pueblos blancos-- mountain villages with charming white-washed buildings, giving you the feeling you're back in time in historic southern Spain.

For those who want to explore other parts of Andalucia, the school will organize weekend trips to other well-known cities of the region - Granada and Seville.
