Description: The Chinese History and Culture Seminar was established in 1987 to help North Americans gain a deeper knowledge and understanding of the culture and people of China.

It is conducted at China's leading centre of learning, Beijing University. Through specially arranged meetings with Chinese historians and artists, and everyday contact with faculty and students, participants are introduced to many different aspects of Chinese life and culture, both traditional and modern.

There will be ten sessions of Chinese language study. Lectures are given through experienced English language interpreters.

Accommodation is provided on the historic and picturesque campus of Beijing University, where participants in the program can immerse themselves in the academic and social life around them. Frequent field trips are led by faculty and students from the university.

Highlights: There will also be free time for relaxation, shopping, sightseeing and visits to private homes. Extension trips to Xian, Shanghai, Guilin, Inner Mongolia or a Yangtze River Cruise can be requested and pre-arranged.

This program is an ideal learning vacation for teachers and students.
