Volunteer to Teach Indigenous Children in Honduras
Honduras
Durations of Program: 2-4 weeks, 5-8 weeks and 9-12 weeks
Typical Duration of Program: 2-4 weeks
Dates: Visit our website for upcoming start dates
Description:
Join GVI on this teaching and community work project, and volunteer in Honduras. Visit the cobbled streets of Copan Ruinas and help with vital volunteer work while you learn Spanish. Although education is free in Honduras, the necessary materials are costly, enough to prohibit some children from attending. GVI has joined with local indigenous leaders to help provide teaching and educational programs to both children and adults who would not normally be able to afford an education. This program includes 40 hours of intense language lessons as well as a variety of extra activities. You can go on a guided tour of the fantastic archaeological ruins at Copán, or go on horse riding and hiking treks. Best of all, a significant financial donation is given to the project directly from your program fee. How this program makes a difference: These education projects in Honduras are a unique program offered by Global Vision International. All funding of these projects comes directly from Global Vision International and volunteer contributions included in the program fee. The projects receive no other outside source of funding apart from GVI.
