The Clean Environment's Mission Statement: Volunteering in Mongolia. The Gobi desert in southern Mongolia is growing at an alarming rate. Desert sands are spreading, not only toward the fertile grasslands and forests to the north, but even as far as the West Coast of North America. Researchers have predicted that the entire nation of Mongolia is in danger of becoming a desert within the next 25 years. Truly, this is a global concern, since much of the world's fresh air supply is generated in unspoiled fields and forests like those in Mongolia. Our mission is to help to prevent the sand from moving northward by planting as many trees as possible in the steppes of Mongolia.

    Year Founded: 2006
