Typical Duration of Program: 2-4 weeks
Description:
WWOOF (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms) is a international organic farm directory network that seeks to connecting willing volunteers with organic farm hosts, in an exchange of labor for experience. Volunteers provide the labor, and host farms provide meals and a place to stay.
Highlights:
Romania is a unique and beautiful country in the Balkan region of South Eastern Europe. The culture of Romania represents a mix of modern developments and traditional practices, most notably in subsistence agriculture, which is still practiced by most of the rural population. Romania is often described as a latin island in a slavic sea. While many aspects of Romanian culture are commonly found throughout Eastern Europe and the Balkans, Romania's language (a latin language like Italian or Spanish), its mix of people (Romanians, Hungarians, Saxons, and Rroma), its foods, and its traditions offer visitors a truly distinct experience.
