Mixed Southern Chinese Kung Fu
China
Dates: Ongoing
Description:
Mixed Southern Chinese Kung Fu is taught by Master Chen at the Nature Sect School in Shishi, China. His lineage traces back 3 generations to the Du Xin Wu, personal bodyguard of Sun Yat Sen. He was personally trained by Wan Lei Sheng. Master Chen has been studying Kung Fu for over 30 years, and is a master of the local southern Shaolin styles, as well as Nan Quan, which is a uniquely effective hybrid of such Cantonese Styles as Wing Chun and Hung Gar (developed by martial arts legend Wong Fei Hung), which in turn evolved from the original Shoalin arts as they spread from the Fujian province to its southern neighbor, the Guandong province. These arts, which Wan Lei Sheng incorporated into the formless fluency of natural boxing (Ziranmen) was the concept which Bruce Lee intensely studied (evolved by Yip Man into Hapkido) and later renamed as Jeet Kune Do.
