Description:
Travel from Delhi to the foothills of the Himalayas to assist on a variety of projects before experiencing the wonders of the Golden Triangle, comprising the three famous cities of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, on this tour through Northern India. Witness the natural beauty of the mountains before visiting the man-made wonders of the Taj Mahal and the Amber Fort. The volunteer project You will be working alongside a local NGO endeavouring to create opportunities for the rural communities in the foothills of the Himalayas. These communities suffer from poor health, a low standard of primary education and rely heavily on agriculture for their income. You will be either teaching, or assisting, at a local school in Almora, helping in a local hospital or assisting in a herbal plantation unit where you'll have the opportunity to learn about, and help in, manufacturing products from the local herbs found in the Himalayan foothills. If you have a particular skill that you would like to share we will endeavour to ensure that your requests are met.

Qualifications:
No requirements, specific skills, education or certifications are necessary to book - just a desire to do something different and make a difference. Only people permitted to work with children unsupervised (and who can supply the relevant paperwork to prove this) will be permitted to work unsupervised with children on our projects - and then at the discretion of those who run the projects.

Typical Volunteer: Anyone can be eligible although we are not targeted at the student "gap year" long term placement market. Our holidays are for anyone who wants to use their vacation time to have a great time and do something positive, altruistic and with a purpose.
