Description:
Program goes from 2 to 24 weeks duration. Lessons are taught Monday to Friday, 4 hours per day in small groups (up to 5 per class) within 6 different ability levels. Tours and sightseeing activities will be done during weekends, with the option to add their weekend sightseeing activities and tours in an all included program or to have assistance to plan their own trips to explore different areas. Andean Global Studies following its mission to contribute to the betterment of Ecuadorian society encourages its students to participate in diverse volunteer programs (humanitarian and ecological). Spanish lessons could be arranged before, through or after internship or volunteer commitment. Humanitarian projects available include the following: street children care, medical assistance, orphanage help, elderly assistance. Volunteers are able to commit part time or full time in desired project. Ecology programs are held in private reserves and natural protected areas outside of the city. Students would stay in the reserves and offer assistance in different areas related to the conservation, reforestation and ecology community education outgoing in the area. Internships are available based on past experience and interests of participants. Minimum commitment is one month and is intended to gain experience on a certain field, therefore in most cases are not a paid job. Areas available among others: Travel agency, marketing, social work, offices, education centers, hospitals, etc.

Andean Global Studies Spanish School offers a unique program to learn Spanish and explore the great diversity of magic Ecuador in four different settings: two in the coastal region, in the beach city of Manta and in MontaƱita; and the other two in the highlands: in the capital city of Quito and in the beautiful city of Cuenca, giving the opportunity to experience the different activities and adventure opportunities these four places can offer while continuing with their studies with the same quality standards, and academic follow up. In order to get the most of participant's time in Ecuador, AGS encourages and offers students the possibility to participate in a volunteer work (humanitarian and ecological programs available) or internships. Spanish lessons could be arranged before, through or after internship or volunteer commitment. Program offers flexibility to participants to tailor design their own schedule to choose schooling among our available diverse settings and the best activities for you.
Qualifications:
Internships and volunteer opportunities have in general a minimum of one month commitment. Volunteer positions can be in ecology or humanitarian fields. Internships are available on a wide range of areas. Participants must reach a basic level of Spanish for a better communication with people involved in the projects. Humanitarian volunteer projects generally are free however some organizations require a contribution which goes from USD 30 to USD 50 once to be paid. Ecology volunteer opportunities contributions go from USD 250 per month of commitment. This amount will cover accommodation, full board and contribution to the project. In both cases 18 usually is the minimum age required to volunteer, no previous experience or expertise is required.
