Highlights:
The 300-plus islands and islets that form the Republic of the Fiji Islands contain some of the best diving spots in the world, being surrounded by warm crystal waters that contain some spectacular coral reefs and extraordinary marine life. By joining this Fijian conservation diving adventure you have the chance to learn to dive or improve your diving in this beautiful environment, whilst you contribute to the protection of the coral reefs by helping on vital marine conservation projects. The coral reefs support an extraordinary biodiversity and play a central role in supporting the coastal communities and fragile coastline of Fiji. Sadly, however, natural events and human activities continue to threaten the ecosystems, with pollution and over-fishing presenting a particular danger to these rainforests of the sea. Yet marine conservation projects are being successfully implemented in the area to which the reefs have responded well. This Yomps conservation adventure will take you to aid such crucially needed marine conservation projects and make a real difference towards the future sustainability of the coral reefs. Anyone is welcome, whether you have dived before or not, as this programme gives you the opportunity to earn a PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) diving qualifications at different levels. Beginners can earn the PADI Open Water certification, and more advanced divers can earn the PADI Advanced Open Water or Rescue Diver qualifications. Participants on this programme live within the Fijian community to be immersed in the friendly and welcoming culture of this unique part of the world. As well as learning how to scuba dive and helping to implement marine conservation measures, you will also have the opportunity to learn the Fijian language and Fijian cookery, ensuring you are never stuck for a delicious recipe or sunny greeting again! Whether you are looking for an amazing way to spend a gap year, want a career break or just want to enjoy an adventure of a lifetime, this trip will take you not only to experience but also to protect one of the most beautiful places on the planet.
