Ranger Training for Eco Tourists in an Amazing but Unseen Thai National Park

  Thailand
  • All Other Areas in Thailand:
  • Cha-am

Dates: October 14 - 20

Description: Watch Discovery Channel? Ever dreamt of discovering wildlife for real? This is your chance to discover the wildlife in a Thai national park with 6 of Southeast Asia's big 7 - wild elephants, gaurs (gigantic buffaloes), tigers, tapirs, bears and leopards including the black panther.

Come for a 7-day Ranger Training in a national park by the Burmese border and an hour from the sea.

Make a camp in the jungle, attend ranger training lectures, learn how to survive in the jungle, drink water from trees, go trekking observing the local wildlife and flora. Wake at sunrise to the sound of wild elephants or great hornbill birds! Trek wild elephants on foot, sit through the night in a tree platform. These are the kind of activities that you can expect to have on this trip: a truly extraordinary survival and ranger training experience!

Training for those truly interested in wildlife and nature, it is a also a perfect but different team training opportunity.

Each day allows for hours of time spent in the jungle learning to interpret the sounds and sights of nature.

A rare opportunity not only to experience the jungle but to learn about and respect nature around you and to learn about yourself too, how you handle these close encounters with nature.

The training is hands on and will allow you to meet Southeast Asian wildlife in pristine natural surroundings. You will sleep out in the jungle, learn tracking and other skills. For anyone interested in the outdoor life, wildlife and nature conservation this is an opportunity not to be missed.

Openmind Projects is an NGO focused on empowering poor people to better lives by providing free education opportunities and also by developing community based and sustainable Eco tourism. Openmind Projects is currently supporting some 60 projects, schools, national parks and other institutions in Thailand and Laos.

To further support community based Eco tourism Openmind Projects, together now offer a Ranger Training Program for eco tourists, people with a genuine interest in wildlife, flora and nature in one of Thailand's most interesting National Parks

This Ranger Training Program is directed to people with experience of outdoor life, hiking and trekking and who share the concern about present days' threats to the environment and wildlife.

Open mind projects's Mission Statement: Open Mind Projects is a bridge to knowledge and cross-cultural understanding, bridging digital and knowledge divides between rich and poor. Open Mind Projects arranges placements for international volunteers to schools, Orphan Homes, other institutions and projects, in Thailand and Laos. Open Mind Projects cooperates with these schools and institutions with learning ideas, technology and international volunteers. Schools and other learning/youth institutions in developing nations are understaffed and under resources. New information technology and international volunteers help offset this advantage. Open Mind Projects wants to facilitate valuable cross-cultural experience, personal development, for volunteers and local childeren and students. An opportunity to learn about other cultures while making local and international friends, within an affordable backpacker budget.
