Trekking for Health

  Nepal
  • Kathmandu:
  • Kathmandu

Dates: Sep 07 to Mar 08

Description: This trip will change your life. Period.

Research has proven that trekking for periods of up to 14 days can improve your BMR (Basic Metabolic Rate) and lead to positive effects on your health, lasting as long as four months. Improvement of BMR is essential to changes for a healthier lifestyle.

We have used this tour to develop one of the world's best health treks, in the world's top trekking destination, Nepal. It gives you the chance to come to Nepal; to experience its rich cultural heritage and enjoy its stunning scenery, while renewing your life-style and health. You will walk on an average about 6 hours a day with some days of more walking and some days less.

We will start the trek at whatever level of fitness you are in and customize the trekking route to suit your level of fitness. We will then gradually work upwards from here.

We combine a 14 day trek in Nepal, portions of which will be in high altitudes, with a doctor controlled daily nutrition regimen during the trek, which will ensure that the effects of the exercise during the trip will be long lasting. Most of the foods in the villages of Nepal are organic, and the doctor will determine what suits your condition the best.

Every morning the trek starts with a warm-up session which combines some yoga with meditation, in some of the world's best locations for such activities. Rest assured, you will come back from the trek reinvigorated and feeling healthier than before; ready to start a new purer lifestyle.

We then reward you with a luxurious elephant safari holiday at a Jungle Resort in the Chitwan National Park and combine this with some level of meditation or yoga, so that your re-entry into "normal" life will be smooth and perhaps start a new healthier routine.

The basic package includes the Langtang trek which is rich in culture and situated in the third most popular area for trekking in Nepal, unparalleled for its natural beauty. Trekking options to the Annapurna or the Everest Region are also available and will involve slight price modifications to account for the additional transportation charges in these areas.

Health extensions for those who want more exercise includes rafting, mountain biking, paragliding, rock climbing etc.
