Africa Wildlife Management

  South Africa
    Grahamstown

Term: Fall, Spring, Summer, Trimester
Dates: Programs start 1st of June, middle of September, end of January.

Description: Hunting culture is in the hands of the youth today. It is our responsibility to educate the next generation about proper hunting techniques and conserving our natural resources.

This course is unique because it covers Africa wildlife management studies from a hunters' perspective. During this Wildlife Management/Conservation Course, you will have the opportunity to hunt African game while studying the Management of African Wildlife.

The students will be based at Esingini Nature Reserve, which includes over 5000 acres of native African bush. The closest town, which is about a 30 minute drive, is Grahamstown, South Africa. The students will also enjoy the priviledge of experiencing some of the adjoining Private Big 5 Game Reserves that surrounds Esingini Bush Camp and including other places such as Amakhala Game Reserve and Addo Elephant National Park. The students will have hands on involvement in game capture, game counts, etc. The Bush Survival course is a good way to start as it gets everybody "together" and people soon get to know each other in the field.

During your stay, you will be exposed to a unique way of life, close to a wide variety of game. You will be shown bush skills and learn about the wildlife and the environment.

Exposure to the local community outreach course will bring you in touch with the day-to-day lives of South Africans.

Weekends are free time off for students. We will have an expert available to assist the students in booking their travel arrangements. Students can enjoy many leisure activities such as touring the Garden Route or even for the more adventurous type, the beautiful, rugged Wild Coast (all at additional cost).

The staff members are all specifically trained to impart their own skills and experience as specialists in their field. They follow the specifically designed course content while adapting it to both the student and the reserve environment. We are committed to you! Providing you with the highest levels of experience, enjoyment, safety and support.
