Highlights:
One of only seventeen megadiverse countries in the world, Venezuela has a vast spectrum of flora and fauna including jaguars, giant anteaters and over 21,000 plant species. Living in our base at Playa Colorada, we will get to know an area of Venezuela that demonstrates this remarkable diversity. From the sands of the beach we will learn to scuba dive in the clear Caribbean waters of this relatively undiscovered diving paradise. Our scuba diving adventure will take us amid an array of marine life, including turtles, clown fish and manta rays, to earn our qualification as a 'Divemaster'. We'll begin our eight weeks of adventure learning the PADI Open Water and Advanced Open Water diving qualifications in the form of lectures, learning skills, and qualifying dives. Learning how to dive responsibly will see us gaining a Rescue Diver qualification, which involves learning lifesaving skills for on the surface of the sea and below. With these lifesaving skills under our diving belts, the final three weeks of learning commence to gain the Divemaster qualification. Days will be long and hard, but the satisfaction of gaining a Divemaster qualification will make all the hard work all the more worthwhile! Each day we will have four 50 minute sessions of Spanish that will be fitted around our diving, which is designed to be interactive and spontaneous. Rather than being in classrooms, our Spanish lessons will be taken in the open air to make speaking Spanish seem entirely natural. During our learning adventure we will have time to play beach sports, kayak to local islands, relax in hammocks, abseil down waterfalls, watch gorgeous sunsets, see stunning wildlife, explore the beautiful islands of Mochima National Marine Park and learn to Salsa dance to the beat of exotic Latino!
