Description:
Volunteers will most likely participate in some of the following activities. * Capturing and Relocating of problem Predators on other farms when requested to do so. * Patrolling, checking and repairing of perimeter fences. * Checking of Predator camp fences. * Tracking of collard Leopard. * Data collection for Research programs. * Training and Lectures basic conservation principles, veld and game management. * Game walks and tracking, to identify animal tracks, droppings, and their preferred habitats. * Night camp outs in the bush. * Night walks. * Removal of alien plants. * Water testing. * Anti-poaching practices. * Birding field work. * Game farm management lectures. * Cleaning and erection of new Predator enclosures. * General camp maintenance. * Field trips to other Lion and Cheetah breeding centres. * Exercising of Predators. * Field trips on days off. * Taking care of and feeding of any babies when necessary. * Feeding of adults. * Daily checking of runway. Special projects: game counts, research data collection, fire fighting.

Shamburu Wildlife Research Centre's Mission Statement: Shamburu Wildlife Research centre is based at Shamburu Private Reserve in the heart of the Waterberg Biosphere in the Limpopo Province of South Africa. Shamburu is dedicated to the Rehabilitation of Wildlife and makes use of Volunteers from all over the World to help facilitate in the day to day operation and ongoing research at the Predator Centre on the over 7 500 hectares of prime game farm.
