Study Spanish within the context of a popular theme. If you only have between one and three weeks and want more than just grammar and vocabulary classes, BEST's theme weeks are designed to give you engaging and exciting content through activities for educational entertainment. We combine an intensive Spanish course (8 levels from beginner to advanced) with activities in Spanish around the following popular themes: Hiking on the route that pilgrims have followed for centuries to Santiago de Compostela, Spanish Cuisine, Spanish Enology (for wine fans), Almodovar's Madrid (for Spanish cinema fans), Flamenco Madrid, Madrid's Neighborhood and Shops, Yoga, Business workshops in many subjects. Weeks can be extended for Spanish and general activities at a special price. Open to participants from 16 years to 50 plus, in separate groups. Write to us for dates and details.

Theme Weeks in Spain

Highlights: All theme weeks include Intensive language classes 9:30 to 1 pm daily in Madrid based up-market, quality-certified international language school, Activities as stated below in Theme Week descriptions in the afternoons, Orientation and Documentation, Taxes, Testing, One general group cultural activity (concert, excursion, exhibition, et al), Airport retrieval, Insurance (Health and Accident full coverage), Lodging assistance.

Almodovar's Madrid

Walks through Almodovar's Madrid with specialized guides: visit to his most famous movie locations and an analysis of the city he portrays; A tour of the director's favorite haunts; Viewing of 3 of his movies from different periods and subsequent discussion with experts; Excursion to la Mancha to visit Almodovar's village where the movie "Volver" is set; Talks by people from the cinema world.

Flamenco Madrid

Flamenco route. Visit Flamenco Madrid and stores selling flamenco products; Visits to the most prestigious flamenco academies and talks with professionals; Drinks and tapas in flamenco bars and taverns; Flamenco show; The most important flamenco festivals; Practical flamenco classes: an introduction to taconeo, las palmas and flamenco dancing at a school in Madrid; Listen to historical flamenco pieces by the most famous flamenco performers.

Spanish Cuisine

Gastronomic routes in the city center; Visit historical and emblematic restaurants; Spanish wine tasting; Two cooking classes with professional chefs (cooking parties); Tapas tasting; Talks by professionals.

Madrid's Neighborhoods and Shops

We will take a stroll through and stores in "The Golden Mile"; We will visit the most traditional shops; Street markets; An introduction and talk on Spanish fashion

Hiking the Route to Santiago de Compostela

Guide and back up bus every 5 kms., 3 nights hotels, 3 meals a day.
