Our Rock Climbing School offers students professional tuition in some of Europes most remarkable natural environments. The Carpathians remain largely undiscovered by the outside world, covering approximately one third of the countrys entire land mass, the region is adorned with forest, waterfalls, fresh water springs and ancient ruins. This programe aims to enrich and refine your experience by offering our guests the chance to absorb some of Transylvanias diverse cultures. Day by day itinerary: Day 1 Transfer from Bucharest Day 2 CLIMBING SCHOOL Where? - Brasov, at 10 min distance from downtown. The place is called Pietrele lui Solomon (Solomon's Stones). close to Poiana Tapului ( auto access) in Cheile Rasnoavei, close to Rasnov, 20 km from Brasov, 12 km from Predeal (auto access) in Piatra Mare Mountains (approx 1 hour by foot, crossing a spectacular canyon) in Costila area Bucegi Mountains (approx 2,5 hours by foot from Busteni) Who can participate? Anyone! There are routes for beginners and for all ages, weights and skill levels. What equipment do you need? Sport clothes and shoes. We will provide the technical equipment (ropes, harnesses,etc) Day 3 Horoabelor Valley Where? The route is in Pestera Padina area, Bucegi Mountains. We can go there by car, or by foot. Accommodation: Pestera hotel for one night. For whom? Even you are not a sports person, you can cross the valley in about 4 hours. Horoabelor Valley is a canyon, IA - UIAA difficulty level. For the begining we will go up next to the waterfalls, after this we will advance through a canyon, which is dry most of the time of summer and autumn seson. In our way we will have to overcome rocks, natural bridges, traverses secured by cables. We will reach the top of Bucegi mountains and return to the accomodation place is just a walk. What equipment? Outdoor sport clothes. Is is recommended to have extra shoes and pants, if you get wet. We will bring technical climbing equipment, just in case.... Day 4 Valea Lui Stan (Stan's Valley) Where? The route is close to Vidraru dam, 20 km from Curtea de Arges, 170 km from Bucharest. Stan's Valley is a canyon, enjoyable in a hot summer day. You will have to climb some stones, next to the waterfalls and to cross the river several times. For whom? Even you are not a sports person, you can cross the valley in about 4 hours. In your way, you will have to climb several metallic stairs, and it is possible to have height weakness. What equipment do we need? Extra shoes and pants is a must. Many water spots can be avoid, but why would we do it, if it is hot outside?... I will bring technical equipment, just in case. Day 5 Via Ferata Where? The route is in Rasnoavei Gorge, about 20 km from Predeal or Brasov. The route is equiped with an iron ladder and crosses a vertical wall (300 m high). For whom? For anybody who has a minimum phisical condition and doesn't suffer of height weackness. You will need 3 hours for this climbing. What equipment? Sport clothes and shoes. The guide will provide the climbing technical equipment ( ropes, harnesses, crabs)
Day 6 Brana Aeriana Where? The route is in Bucegi Mountains, above Busteni town. It is a long route, 1000 m high, but technicaly easy. (IA, UIAA difficulty level). We will advance through a really wild area, with a spectacular scenery. For whom? For anybody who has a reasonable phisical condition and wants to try more than a touristic route. You will have to climb about 10 hours, from Busteni to the top of Bucegi Mountains, than back to Busteni.
What equipment? Mountain clothes and boots. The guide will bring technical climbing equipment, just in case. Day 7 The Chimney from Costila Wall and Galbinelle Ridge The route is in Bucegi Mountains, above Busteni town. It is a long route, on a spectacular ridge: 700 m high, III A UIAA difficulty level. Access from Busteni: 3 hours by foot. For whom? If you are a beginner climber, or you have a good physical condition, you can do this route in about 10 hours (including access and return to Busteni). If you don't want to be hurry, we can spend the night before climbing route at Costila shelter. What equipment? You need your own clothes and boots(recommended climbing shoes). We will provide all technical climbing equipment (ropes, harnesses, crabs, etc) Transfer to Bucharest

The climbing lessons take place in some of the deepest gorges with huge walls over 200 meters high, spectacular ceilings, deep crevices, and fantastic clear faces. The course is specially designed for beginners with little or no experience, whilst offering a chance to climb in different areas and on different faces that offer new challenges to help you adapt and fine tune your skills. Our guides are highly experienced climbers and fully qualified climbing instructors. The food provided by the Rock Climbing School is organic and locally grown; a tradition we wish to help preserve. Also, any vegetarians out there will be catered for with REAL alternatives.
