Volunteers both male and female from abroad are invited for this programme of our organization. Groups can also apply for this volunteering. The purpose of this programme is to get our foreign guests experience first hand practical knowledge of the south Indian culture and customs and to enjoy the tourist locations. The volunteers will be engaged in the centre for teaching speaking English skills which is run by us in our home town Virudhunagar and after that they can start their touring programme. The volunteers do not require any previous experience or skills to teach English. The volunteers will mingle with the students for conversation and by this the students can improve their communication skills in English, we hope. ** The highlight of our volunteering placement is that the volunteers from abroad will be taught yoga in our school for one hour or more. Home cooked food with packaged drinking water and neat accommodation with western type bath rooms will be provided to the volunteers. Broadband internet browsing facility and phone facility are available on payment basis. The fee for accommodation and food will be: 1-2 weeks = 275 USD 3-4 weeks = 360 USD Additional week = 90 USD The fee also includes registration charges, pickup charges from the Madurai airport. The selection is through e.mail only after sending us a short resume also through e.mail. To reach our organization, the volunteers can book flight tickets to Chennai and from there to Madurai, a local airport. The volunteers will be received by us in the Madurai airport.

Unity Charitable Trust's Mission Statement: Unity Charitable Trust is a registered charitable organization for the welfare of the poor, the disabled, the orphaned children and the depressed women. The organization also includes a Women's Self-Help Group holding effective and efficient training programs for the development of entrepreneurship among the local women. We are also placing foreign volunteers into local projects for them to get first hand knowledge of Indian culture, customs, education and so on. Our projects include a Nursery and primary school, and a computer literacy centre.
