Description: New Choice has created an adventure and historical trip to Mongolian Gobi and Chinese Great Wall (Between Mongolia and China). During this 14-day interesting trip, you'll visit Mongolia, and China. Along the journey you'll see numerous incredible landmarks and a wealth of wonderful wildlife, where you'll see a Mongolian nomadic life, Mongolian Gobi, and Chinese Great Wall.

Mongolian trip

Mongolian Gobi is the largest in Mongolia, and summer temperatures reaching an average of up to 38'C, this is the driest and hottest region in the Mongolia. The two million-hectare Gurvansaikhan National park is the highlight aimag and the overwhelming reason why tourist comes here. Unlike other parks in the Gobi, the Gurvansaikkhan does contain a few attractions, and the facilities ger camps and roads are reasonably good. Gurvansaikhan means the three beauties and refers to its three ridges contains mountains, dinosaurs fossils, sand dunes, rock formations and valley which, incredibly, has ice for most of the year. The park also contains over 200 species goof birds, including the Mongolian Desert Warbler and Houbara Bustard: and may be 600 more types of vegetation and plants, a lot of which only blooms after very infrequent heavy rain. The sparse vegetation does manage to support numerous types of animals, such as the Black-tailed gazelle, Kozlov's pygmy jerboa and khulan, and endangered species of old wild camel, snow leopard, ibex and argali sheep. If on an organized tour, your permit which is little more than an entrance fee of 1500 tugrigs per day-to the national park should be included in your tour. If traveling independently, you pay at the gate to the Yolyn Am valley, next to the museum.

Khongoriin Els, Mongolia

The Khongoriin els are some of the largest and most spectacular sand dunes in Mongolia Also known as the singing dunes they are up to 800 m high, 20km wide and about 100km long. You can climb to the top of the dunes with a lot of effort three steps forward, one slide back. The view of the desert from the top is indescribable. You can wherever you want as long as you stay a fair distance from the ger camps.

Bayanzag, Mongolia

Bayanzag, which means 'rich in saxauls', is more commonly known as the 'flaming cliffs'. First excavated in 1922, the area is renowned worldwide for the number of dinosaur boes and eggs found there, which you can see in the Museum of National History in Ulaanbaatar or, mostly, in other museums around the world. It's a classic desert of rock, red sands, scrub, sun and awesome emptiness.
Chinese Trip

Great Wall of China

The Great Wall of China was built over 2,000 years ago, by Qin Shi Huangdi, the first emperor of China during the Qin (Ch'in) Dynasty (221 B.C - 206 B.C.). In Chinese the wall is called "Wan-Li Qang-Qeng" which means 10,000-Li Long Wall (10,000 Li = about 5,000 km).

After subjugating and uniting China from seven Warring States, the emperor connected and extended four old fortification walls along the north of China that originated about 700 B.C. (over 2500 years ago). Armies were stationed along the wall as a first line of defense against the invading nomadic Hsiung Nu tribes north of China (the Huns). Signal fires from the Wall provided early warning of an attack.

The Great Wall is one of the largest building construction projects ever completed. It stretches across the mountains of northern China, winding north and northwest of Beijing. It is constructed of masonry, rocks and packed-earth. It was over 5,000 km (=10,000 Li) long. Its thickness ranged from about 4.5 to 9 meters (15 to 30 feet) and was up to 7.5 meters (25 feet) tall.

During the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), the Great Wall was enlarged to 6,400 kilometers (4,000 miles) and renovated over a 200 year period, with watch-towers and cannons added.

The Great Wall can be seen from Earth orbit, but, contrary to legend, is not visible from the moon, according to astronauts Neil Armstrong, Jim Lovell, and Jim Irwin.
