Description: "Sojourns Abroad combines serious academic discipline with hands-on, cross cultural experiences, and elevates the mix to a spiritual plane. It's no overstatement to assert that the richness students acquire under your tutalege enriches the world."

A three month cultural immersion program in the heart of Tuscany. Weekdays will be spent learning Italian - in an intimate classroom setting, in homestays and in social service internships. Weekends will include cultural excursions (visits to hill towns and important cities like Florence, Rome and Venice) and outdoor adventures (hiking, biking, skiing, e.g.) though the program will take up to 12 participants at a time, it is designed with the individual in mind.

Highlights: Frequent outings are to major cultural venues: museums, concerts, the theater. Sojourners are also provided opportunities for art and music instruction and are introduced to sports events, athletic facilities and health clubs to which they can return during unscheduled time.

Engaging informal seminars and group discussions provide cultural background and depth.

Cost Include Description:
The program fee includes: pick up on arrival, orientation, living accommodations, all meals (except lunches), language instruction, culinary lessons, mid-week excursions and weekend trips, all entry fees, varied outdoor activities, individualized mentoring and support, introductory visits to concerts, lectures, theatrical performances, sporting events and festivals.

Not included: airfare, telephone or fax, personal items, insurance (travel, health or trip cancellation). Average monthly out-of-pocket expense once in the site city is generally $500-750.
