Description:
This is a unique opportunity to experience rural and the 'Western cowboy' lifestyle in Canada. If you have always wanted to be a cowboy or cowgirl. This is the program for you! Students are placed on a ranch, farm, orchard or winery of their choice for 1 to 6 weeks. There are many exciting activities to do while you are there such as horse back riding, hiking, fishing, Western crafts, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, snowshoeing etc. At the same time you can learn about fruit and vegetables, viticulture, raising and training horses and animals while immersed in an English speaking environment. We currently have 5 ranches, and 1 organic farm to choose from.
Highlights:
The farmstays are located in the Okanagan area of British Columbia. This is a semi-desert environment with 4 distinct seasons. The main industries here are tourism, ranching and agriculture (fruit, vegetables and wine).
